C1 loudspeakers offer excellent audio performance in a form factor designed for easy mounting behind factory grilles.

Description

The C1 woofers benefit from JL Audio’s proprietary FEA modeling and expertise. This knowledge is used to create speakers that can play loud, while maintaining smooth, dynamic, low-distortion sound.

At the heart of the C1-650 is an exclusive 6.50-inch (165mm) stamped-steel frame and DMA-optimized motor system. A mineral-filled, injection-molded polypropylene cone is suspended with a rubber surround at the front and a carefully designed flat Conex® spider at the top of the voice coil, to precisely control voice coil movement.

Braid wires are carefully routed and attached to the spiders to prevent fatigue and buzzing. These are the same kinds of features and materials normally found on much more expensive speakers.

Equipped with a true edge-driven aluminum dome tweeter, the C1 speakers further distinguish themselves from others in their class with superior high-frequency clarity and definition.

The tweeter design inherently has excellent off-axis response and high frequency extension. It also benefits from the damping of a silk surround suspension and ferrofluid in the voice coil air gap, as well as the superior strength of a neodymium magnetic circuit.
